Brig Owens continues to serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Shaw Community Center Food Committee. LuAnn Bennett also attended and supported the effort. The Shaw Community Center provided over 400 families with enough food to have a hearty American Thanksgiving dinner.
Team Bennett Group's own John Hauser led fundraising efforts for and participated in the annual
Autism Speaks Walk in DC. Bennett Group exceeded their fundraising goal and helped to raise
awareness for Autism.

For the 12th consecutive year, Bennett Group's Brig Owens participated in Taste of the NFL for SuperBowl XLIV. The mission of this event is: To address the needs of the hungry and homeless by raising awareness and money through special events and programs. Mr. Owens assisted Chef Jeffrey Gaetjen, the restaurant representative for the Redskins' Taste of the NFL team, from Kinkead's Restaurant in Washington, DC. Together, Chef Gaetjen and Mr. Owens volunteered their time and hearts to create a delicious Biscuit with Ham and Mushroom Ragout in honor of those in need. Bennett Group takes great pride of Brig's many contributions to the community.

Bennett Group’s Green Team has developed a “Green Strategy” for the office, and is working to carry out this strategy week by week. Included on our list are the following: switching our light bulbs to LEDs; installing motion sensors to reduce light use; switching our electricity provider to Clean Currents, a green energy provider; becoming a member of CarbonFund.org where we will make a donation of $700 to offset our company’s carbon footprint.

Bennett Group has been contracted for the Georgetown Neighborhood Library Structural Concrete Project as well as the Georgetown Neighborhood Library Structured Steel Renovation.
