LuAnn Bennett joined the board of The National Children's Museum.


November 2010

Brig Owens continues to serve as Master of Ceremonies for the Shaw Community Center Food Committee.  LuAnn Bennett also attended and supported the effort.  The Shaw Community Center provided over 400 families with enough food to have a hearty American Thanksgiving dinner.

Team Bennett Group's own John Hauser led fundraising efforts for and participated in the annual

Autism Speaks Walk in DC.  Bennett Group exceeded their fundraising goal and helped to raise

awareness for Autism.

For the 12th consecutive year, Bennett Group's Brig Owens participated in Taste of the NFL for SuperBowl XLIV.  The mission of this event is: To address the needs of the hungry and homeless by raising awareness and money through special events and programs.  Mr. Owens assisted Chef Jeffrey Gaetjen, the restaurant representative for the Redskins' Taste of the NFL team,  from Kinkead's Restaurant in Washington, DC.  Together, Chef Gaetjen and Mr. Owens volunteered their time and hearts to create a delicious Biscuit with Ham and Mushroom Ragout in honor of those in need.   Bennett Group takes great pride of Brig's many contributions to the community.

September - October 2009

Bennett Group’s Green Team has developed a “Green Strategy” for the office, and is working to carry out this strategy week by week.  Included on our list are the following: switching our light bulbs to LEDs; installing motion sensors to reduce light use; switching our electricity provider to Clean Currents, a green energy provider; becoming a member of where we will make a donation of $700 to offset our company’s carbon footprint.

We are pleased to announce that our president and CEO, LuAnn Bennett, has successfully served on Virginia Governor Kaine’s Commission on Climate Change.  There, she helped to identify ways Virginia can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and recommended future legislation.  A full report of the commission's work can be found here.

Bennett Group has been retained to perform the renovation, expansion and restoration of the Georgetown Neighborhood Library projects at 3307 M Street, NW and 3260 R Street, NW.

Bennett Group is in the final stages of restoring the historic Carver Theatre in SE Washington, DC, which will house the Youth Power Center, a non-profit after school program. The project was recently featured in Bisnow.

Bennett Group has signed a contract to renovate the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system at the Watergate South residential complex in Washington, DC, replacing all existing fan coil units in each apartment.

Bennett Group has completed renovation of a three-story, two-bedroom single-family home in the historic Dupont Circle neighborhood.

Bennett Group has completed renovation of the Historic Georgetown estate at 3256 N Street. Combining the principles of historic preservation and “green” construction, Bennett Group proudly maintained this site using many of the original building materials. We updated the structural framework to create an energy efficient apartment unit, utilizing post-consumer, renewable, and sustainable materials while preserving the classical façade of this beautiful home.


June 2007

Bennett Group has signed a contract with the Anacostia Waterfront Corporation to maintain and manage 300 acres of land, 100 acres of marina and 500,000 square feet of leased space. Bennett Group will manage the Fish Wharf and Washington Marina, the Anacostia Marina, Kingman Island, Boathouse Row and the Southwest Waterfront.
